Landing Trail School serves students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4. Outstanding staff members create a safe, caring learning environment under the philosophy of “Together We Make a Difference.” The school is committed to academic excellence and focuses strongly on numeracy and literacy at all grade levels. We use guided reading and, when necessary, one-on-one support for students who are struggling.
We offer a variety of programs including LOGOS, which provides parents the option of a Christian-based education within a public school setting. Our vibrant music program is taught by an award-winning music teacher (Kodaly Society of Canada’s Music Education Excellence Award and nominated for Alberta’s Excellence in Teaching). We also have organized extracurricular options including student leadership, choir and sports activities. In addition, our nutrition program offers snacks year-round and weekly hot lunches during the winter months.
We work hard to maintain a kind and respectful school culture. Part of this is teaching and practicing the Bs of Character Education which include, Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Kind. We also focus on student leadership to support the growth and development of global citizens in a global community. We are involved in various community service events like the Gibbons Food Bank and Christmas Bureau.
