Positive Playgrounds is a mentorship program offered at the elementary school level. In it, students in Grades 4 to 6 act as mentors during recess. They organize games and events for all students, including younger grades, to participate in.
Positive Playgrounds gives students a game or activity and friends to play with. It builds cooperation and communication skills and gives students a strong sense of belonging and fun.
Activities can include ball hockey, parachute games, snow fort building, snow castle competitions, running, seashell hunting, ice slides and more.
