Green Certificate

At Sturgeon Public Schools, we honor our rural heritage by offering the Green Certificate program to high school students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. This program equips students with the essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for success in the agricultural sector.

Students participate in hands-on learning under the guidance of experienced farm professionals, acquiring real-world expertise in their chosen field. By completing a series of three courses, students can earn a Level 1 (Technician) Green Certificate and up to 16 high school credits. Areas of specialization include:

  • Dairy Production
  • Equine Certificate
  • Feedlot Beef Production
  • Irrigated Field Crop Production

The Green Certificate program is an excellent opportunity for students to blend their passion for agriculture with practical experience and academic achievement.
