School of Choice Application
At Sturgeon Public Schools, students are assigned to a designated school based on their home address. However, families may apply for their child to attend a different school within our division through the School of Choice process. If you're unsure of your designated school, please use the Find My School tool on our website.
Application Process
Complete the Online Application:
- School of Choice Online Application
If the online application link is not working, please download Exhibit 1 - School of Choice Application, and submit the completed form to the principal of the school you wish your child to attend.
Important Considerations
Approval Factors: Applications are evaluated based on:
- Availability of space, resources, and programs.
- Availability of teaching and support staff.
- Projected school enrollment.
- Suitability of programs to meet student needs.
Annual Renewal: A new application must be submitted each year by April 30th to continue enrollment at the School of Choice.
Transportation
- Parents or guardians are responsible for transportation when attending a non-designated school.
- The division may provide transportation if space is available on an existing route without significant deviation.
