Sturgeon Public Schools serves the needs of approximately 5,200 students in 18 schools throughout Sturgeon County and the towns of Bon Accord, Gibbons, Morinville and Redwater.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Sturgeon Public Schools offers early childhood programs to give children the best possible start in education. This is a time when children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development occurs at a rapid rate. Our caring, talented staff and innovative programs help support them on their journey!
Elementary schools serve students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. A solid foundation of knowledge and skills is developed in these years, from reading and writing to mathematics and science. Joyful classrooms and enthusiastic instruction help ignite in students a lifelong passion for learning!
Junior high includes the middle school years of Grades 7 to 9. Core competencies are further developed and complementary classes are introduced, offering students the opportunity to pursue individual interests and passions.
High school encompasses Grades 10 to 12, and is the culmination of public education. Core competencies are refined and complementary courses allow students to pursue potential careers and develop marketable skills. Students are prepared for post-secondary education and the world beyond school through various specialized programs.
Sturgeon Public Schools operates two learning centres as outreach schools. They provide an alternative high school setting where the focus is on a flexible and individualized approach to educational success. Learning can occur both on and off site, at a pace that best suits the student.
Sturgeon Public Schools operates two specialized schools that serve students with distinct needs. Morinville Colony School serves youth from Headstart to Grade 9 at the Morinville Hutterite Brethren colony. Oak Hill School serves the educational needs of the boys placed at Oak Hill Boys Ranch.
