April is recognized across Canada as the Month of the Military Child—a time to honour the strength, resilience, and unique experiences of children in military families.
In our school division, we are proud to support the many military-connected students who are an important part of our school communities. These children often face unique challenges, including frequent relocations and parental deployments, all while showing remarkable adaptability and courage.
One special highlight this month is Teal Up Day on April 11 at Guthrie School. Teal is the official colour of the Month of the Military Child in Canada, symbolizing strength and support. On this day, students and staff are encouraged to wear teal to show solidarity with and appreciation for military families in our community.
